Setting up the Ambir ID Scanner
1. Click the Start icon
2. In the pop up, select Computer (Right hand side of Start Menu)
3. In the Computer Window, click to open the C: drive
4. In the C: drive, double click to open the Program Files (x86)Â folder
5. In the Program Files folder, double click to open the Ambir folder
6. In the Ambir folder, double click to open the AmbirScan 2.0 folder
7. In the AmbirScan 2.0 folder, double click to open the AmbirScan icon
8. When you opened the AmbirScan program, it placed the icon on your system tray (the line
containing the clock).
Double click the Ambir icon to open.
You should see this pop up:
9. Click the Custom… button
You will see the following popup
10. Click the Color radio button
11. Change the Resolution by
a. clicking the drop down next to Resolution(dpi):
b. highlighting and clicking on 200
c. (final view)
12. Change the Height to 2.5
a. Hover over the middle bottom red box until your mouse turns into a double arrow
b. Click and hold the left mouse button, dragging the line to the 2.5 mark
c. Release the mouse
13. Change the Width to 3.5
a. Hover over the middle left red box until your mouse turns into a double arrow
b. Click and hold the left mouse button, dragging the line to the 3.5 mark
c. Release the mouse
After you have complete all of those steps, your Custom Settings should reflect the following:
14. Click OK
15. Change the File Type from PDF to JPEG
a. Click the drop down menu
b. Choose JPEG
16. Click the Options button
17. Uncheck all the boxes. The screen should look like this:
18. Click the JPEG tab
19. Click the
Do nothing
radio button
20. Click OK
21. On the main Ambir screen, change the Store in folder location:
a. Click the browse button next to the path
b. Scroll until you see the OS (C:) drive and click to view the additional folders
c. Scroll down and choose ID_Scans, folder
d. Click OK
You have successful set up your scanner!
Click Quit to close Ambir Scan
